Case Study: Are enterprises ready for Generative AI? Console Connect asked 1,000 IT Leaders

Campaign Overview

Console Connect, in collaboration with Berkeley Communications and Arlington Research, sought to cut through the generative AI hype by addressing an overlooked but critical issue: network readiness. As the adoption of generative AI accelerates, Console Connect aimed to spark a global conversation about the real-world infrastructure challenges enterprises face.

Research Objectives

The research was commissioned to:

  • Generate headline-ready insights that attract tier-one media attention.
  • Provide C-suite leaders with compelling evidence to rethink infrastructure planning.
  • Identify pain points and risks related to deploying generative AI too quickly.

 Methodology

To inform the campaign, and report content, Arlington Research conducted an online, self-completion survey between 3–16 January 2024, gathering insights from 1,000 Director-level and above CTOs and senior IT leaders. Respondents were based in companies with over 50 employees across five regions: the UK, USA, Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Key Findings

  • 69% of IT leaders, and 66% of CTOs, said their current networks were not ready for generative AI.
  • 88% plan to deploy generative AI soon, but 76% worry about the long-term infrastructure impact.
  • 71% fear generative AI will expose networks to cyber risks (rising to 90% in Australia).
  • Key barriers: cybersecurity threats (43%) and lack of internal skills (39%).

Research-Driven Strategy

The findings were timely and newsworthy, creating urgency around a less-covered angle of the AI conversation. This differentiated Console Connect as an expert in infrastructure resilience amid AI disruption.

Impact

Arlington Research delivered a high-credibility study that grounded Console Connect’s campaign in hard data. It provided a fresh, disruptive narrative that resonated across tech media globally. The campaign successfully positioned Console Connect as a strategic voice on infrastructure readiness.
